I think when the owner him self the person who does the job .. they put more attention to what they do. But when people work for monthly salary in these workshops they don't have the same attitude towards the work. Unless the management is smart enough to understand employee motivation, T&D, customer orientation and lot of marketing stuff

Thanks for the replies guys. I've got few used laptops last few years through ebay. What I noticed in ebay, is that prices for brand new laptops with genuine OS, are around 20K lower than SL price even with shipping. (however warrenty issue will come, but I'm ok with that because my brother mostly do repairs if needed, but I hardly face any) If I go with local agents with my specs, price would be around 100K. If I get same at unity plaza shops it'll be cheaper but no OS no other backup software. And the selection is very limited more common models. Also i've heard service is very poor. So I think best is to compare prices at Aus shops / or buy over ebay ask cousin to keep it ready, so other guy can bring it. I feel changi airport duty freeshops are not that cost effective.

Guys need some info about getting down a laptop here. Do you guys have any idea about Australia prices vs Changi airport duty free prices? I can get my cousin to buy one from australia and bring here or get him to buy at singapore transit. what would be better? Also, are there any known websites with virtual shops for changi airport.

Just because Doctor used .. or Lady driven doesn't mean vehicle is properly used and well maintained. As mentioned in my quoted reply, neither every doctor use their cars properly and do costly and quality repair nor every Mudalali do cheap quality repair for the vehicles.

Agree with jdnet.. as we tollerate all the b** sh**t and excuses we wouldn't be able to bring up standards of this country. I wouldn't mind going in side the yard and find the car by my self. If the payments are done, registered to my name now they don't have any right to keep the car. So go there make noise and even try to locate car by your self..

I've got blinded by some fog lights during night. Only option for me to is stand on the break. May be those idiots fixed them with more powerful lights to drive in the nights. If they had high beam on, i could've warn them with flashing the high beam. But with this fog lights it doesn't work.

Is your problem solved? Mine also some times drop below 500 too but not all the time. What is the acceleration issue you mentioned here? Is it low pulling power whenyou accelerate or RPM drops suddenly even when you press the accelerate peda?

Ok, assuming your car is EK3-Vi, I must say your fuel efficiency is very much low compare to others. I’ve being using same car (manual) for last 3 years. I hardly get anything below 11/12 Kmpl with A/C on, unless you use it at SPORTS mode (in Multimatic) all the time. When I start in the morning my RPM goes up to 1000 – 1500 and after driving for a while it reduces to normal level. However when I use A/C and the vehicle come in to idle RPM drops to 300/500 range. Most people with same car told me they have the same issue but not solved. Cleaning IACV will not rectify this problem because either it’s electric motor inside or the spring that something to do with this. Best thing is get adjust to this if possible. RPM fluctuation issue is different to what I mentioned above. It is when you keep the car in idle (or even in move) RPM goes up and down continuously without a pause. So you can see your RPM gauge movement between 750/500 to 2000/2500 range. Reading your post gives me the idea that you don’t have this problem but the previous. The jerk you mentioned here is most likely a problem with the Multimatic gear box. This problem occurs with wrong ATF or when gear box not maintained properly. Check youtube, you’ll see so many videos of the RPM fluctuation due to TPS problem without CEL giving any indication.

I'm confused. Civicferio started the thread and but prvnrox haven't given much details about this problem. @prvnrox would you mind giving more details of the problem you have. I noticed you have already bought new TB. Did you change it? What RPM range it fluctuate? Does it change only at IDLE or when you driving too? If you can give us more details, we will be able to share some knowledge. Because I went through this IACV and TPS issue for quite some time and solved the problem with changing TB. Also your TPS can malfunction without CEL giving any indication. Because it works in voltage range and error code only appear when it goes below the threshold AFAIK.

Well not necessarily. The reason is that ECU reads wrong Throttle position and either increase or reduces air/fuel mixture. This will cause the RPM issue. You can be more certain if it happened when car moves at certain speed. Like in my case car suddenly start quick jerks as RPM goes up and down quickly without changing the throttle position. So it can be either of senors.

About the topic, as mentioned, if its possible to repairt this upto proper standards and obtain proper JAAI certificate (with records of repair I guess). Do it leagal and ethical way. Sell it with records then there is no harm at all. (there are worst cars in our road). However I doubt all that will be cost effective in the end. But if you want to cut short and make some easy money its big NO. I think government should have policy and different pricing for car imports depend on its history. Yes.. I had the same issue and it was TPS not IACV.

True compare to last time nothing much happening. Last time I bought a ticket to watch races. But when I came in the night crowd is all over and there was no place to see the races. 99% didn't even had any tickets. Luckyly most people went around 9.30 -10pm. So had clear view towards the last events.If the organizers made some proper arrangements specially in crowd control I guess people will stay till late night. At least for those who buy tickets and come will stay longer. If not streets will be empty before half of the events finished.

While I agree with Don on his initial point that there should be line between personal and pulic use of forum details. This Sylvi phenomenon is not just age gap, it’s just that lack of class and dignity that makes him write those things to Watchmen. Also check your Pressure cap. if its damageded or spring has too much rust, rubber seal is broken, similar problems can occur.

Isn't there any policy not to make fun of cars advertised in A/L .. at least I was informed not to do so. Just saying !
