@iRage anything on this? Is this an all new or just a facelift?

Supposed to be an update to the R35 as a final farewell to the R35....at least that is what the speculators say....what Nissan will do..no one knows...but more than likely the speculators are right. How drastic the updates will be is yet to be seen...everything from a boost in power with the exising engine to mating a Hybrid system seems to be hovering around

Ok I was just having a look, seems like they have three versions, one which is more GT then a Sports version Track Edition and the Performance NISMO.

Other than that they dont have a translation running so dont have much details. Found the English version, so only 100 will be built and offered through a lottery for two weeks.

Few colours from the heritage models are bought back.

Yeah....bit of a bore again...a bit tired of getting hopes up with Nissan...

100 units sold by lottery.nLottery applications run from 15th to the 29th and luckier prospective buyers will be notified within the the first few weeks of October...

T-Spec (TMSpec, i.e. Trend/Traction master)  makes some optional and NISMO parts and spec standard and revives the Millenium Jade and Midnight Purple colours (I don't think the colors look good onthe R35 as it did on the R34 and the R33). Oh...and a special gold coloured paint for the T-Spec intake paint tidbits...
The best thing about the reveal was listening to stories of designing and building the R33 and R34.Apparently the midnight purples of the R34 were limited because of supply limitations of the paint. The colors are difficult to apply on the current car because the micron levels need ot be adjusted depending on the panel and with standard run of the mill new-eco freindly painting methods that becomes very costly.

Only Nissan can hash out the heart strings like this...17 years gives one good practice

In other GTR news, the aging Zilla is to be axed in Aus..

"Australian Design Rules (ADRs) for side impact collisions mean the Nissan GT-R can’t be imported to Australia from October 31, 2021."

Damn, so even Lexus is feeling it, wonder how many of those Chinese and Indian vehicles available in Australia will have to go out of the market. Am sure the GTR and the Lexus models are much safer than those

Uhh...not really what they said....they showed an image that showed the ethos of the GT-R. The variants that refer to the GT of the GT-R, being a grand touring. Then track spec variants which are NISMO variants...and then those right in the middle which are Grond Tourers with the a Racing feel to it. This is what has been the ideology of the GT-R since the beginning (which was also an issue they pointed out with people taking the GT variants of R34s, R33s etc and converting it in to GT-R look a likes but now they cannot do so).

What was announced and new was just the T-Spec variant which will be available for the GT flavored premium grade GT-Rs and the Racing spirit GT-Rs. The standard models of the Grand Tourer variants and Race spirit variants and NISMO variants remain as it is (although the order books might be closed due to production capacity).

Yeah...Lexus announced the pull out late last year (I thin the IS and RC), but then I doubt Lexus will feel the difference because they haven't been that successful with the models down-under. At the time the thought was that they pulled out the models until the next gen variants which will meet these compliancy requirements.

As for Indian and Chinese vehicles..no idea. Don't know how it works in Australia, but in Japan and some other countries there are stupid loopholes. For example, a kei car has less requirements than that of a standard car or a high-performance car, so if one manages to classify ones model as something that is not through some non-sensicle measurement, then it might pass safety standards whilst its competitor does not.

Looks better than the previous gen type R for sure. But that spoiler looks like an afterthought, unless its an active spoiler.

Oh and I forgot they want to beat the previous topspeed of the TypeR of 180mph.

That doesn't seem to look like an active spoiler if you zoom in to it.
But those types of spoiler arms do seem to be the more sought after options (even ultra expensive spoon spoilers etc have the same mounting arm). I beleive the reasoning is that the light weight and thinner arms create less drag enabling better design of the wing itself. Also, it allows for cheaper engineering of making it move (be active as you suggested)

So who knows...they could be using such an arm just for that...

It could be that the arms are carbon

It could be that it actually is active although not visible

It could be that since this is just a test mule they are flaunting they still have not designed a proper wing (or atleast mounting arms).

You have the G Class 4X4 Squared in Europe, so why not the lil Jimny?

Jimny-Hero.jpg?quality=85&width=1440&quality=70

A German company is offering Portal Axles on the Jimny and priced at around $65,000 vs the original sold at $ 23,000.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/42973/suzuki-jimny-on-portal-axles-has-a-crazy-15-7-inches-of-ground-clearance

And that is major ground clearance, no idea how it will behave on the tarmac.

Ain't gonna lie...I am a bit dissapointed with the new Integra design.  It simply does not have that slender, sleek beauty the old models had (looks like an Accord mated with a mammoth and created this wierd Tansformer like creature). Granted there are specific things that do look quite good...just that standing back and looking at the whole hing is a bi of a let down. I suppose it would look much much better as a 2 door.

Mazda USA unveiled the new CX-50 which was talked alot about and much anticipated for over the last few months. The launch vehicle does have a very rough and touch presence compared to the gentle and sleek shapes of Mazda crossovers we have become used to. AWD comes as standard in all models and the engine options are either a NA 2.5 or Turbo 2.5 SkyActiv engine. So they are engines we are somewhat familiar with on other previous Mazda models.

What is interesting is...this is the first Mazda vehicle produced at the new Toyota-Mazda joint production plant "Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA, Inc." which is also where the Corolla Cross for the North and South American continental markets are made. By the time the launch event was finished people were already drawing similarities with the Corolla Cross design and was making claims of the two cars sharing components. Mazda was quick to deny this and insists that the CX-50 is its own car and has its own parts. It is unlikely that the two cars actually share platforms or components considering the differences in the mechanicals and things like lights..but you cannot deny the fact that the buldging fenders and the body lines leading to and off of them are quite reminiscent of the Corolla Cross...

Either way it is a pretty car. Mazda Japan today claimed that th CX-50 is not planned for sale in Japan; as it is for the US and strategic export markets. However, since the CX-3 became the CX-30...it would be no surprise of this CX-50 or some of its design components makes it way over to the next generation CX-5 (which logically should be called CX-50 ?)

and now look at the lines and buldges of the Corolla Cross..you really can't blame those who picked up and went on a trip with th similarties...
