I don't mean to bum everyone out with socialism theories, but honestly right now in our countryt herich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer and the middled class is trying very hard to not fall into the 'poor'. A photographer friend was saying that some of these high-society kids even celebrate birthdays at the taj and hilton and what not.. So "50,000 for a toy? Sure son, but that means no partying allowance for this week for you!" said a father to a son.

i knew they made trail bikes. there was a famous one rom back in the 80s. but i didn't know they made superbikes. nice!

so finallly, all done:

car is pretty heavy. and the suspension is so awesome! just look at the travel in this shot, and the fact that it steers/has a working driveshaft with a diff (no LSD, that's in the next model) is beyond awesome!

here's a shot of the interior,

so that's that. will keep this around for a few days, dismantle and start on 8880. that looks to be a far greater challenge!

started on 8880 after a small break. first the F1 racer. will do the 8865 jeep afterwards. thought i'd save the supercar for last.

here goes. my god this set has tons of new parts. most are exclusive. the level of detail is migraine-inducing.

here's the engine build. its a lot more intricate than 8865, which used square blocks as pistons. purists would say nay, but this has some pretty realistic detail.

so finally finished the F1 racecar. here's what it looks like:

then without further ado i started on the 8865 off roader. this wsan't that much of a challenge, but yet the suspension was interesting. its a solid rear axle (without leaf springs of course)

next up is the final build for some time. the 8880 supercar. technic's pinnacle. never seen a more detailed set except for the ehavy duty cranes.

this one has:

4 wheel steering

4 speed gearbox with synchromesh

front and rear LSD

pop up lights

fully independent suspension

and a rear bootlid that's multi articulated. nerdgasm of nergasms.
