Hi guys, I recently removed my front wing to fix a dent. To remove the wing from the body I had to pry some form of seam sealant which was applied between the wing and the body. My question is from where I can find seam sealant in Sri Lanka? Any good brands? I read that Poly Urethane (PU) sealant is also acceptable, but it is stronger and is harder to remove than seam sealant.

Thanks

Not sure about the availability in Sri Lanka. Off the top of my head, 3M does seam sealer and should be good. Try eBay?

Yeah machan, that's the thing, trying to get it from here! 3M seam sealer would do the trick. Worst case, will get it from eBay.

Anyway don't our body shop guys ever use sealant when putting panels back together?

Did you try AC Paul in Panchi, they might have those...

rayman,

I bought once off ebay, but shipping was more than the item's cost :-)

Check out Mohamed mahuthoon (the auto paint shop) near slave island. They have PU seam sealer. I've bought once from them too. But the chap I asked didnt know what it was! I basically pointed it out in their glass cabinet and asked for it.

But AC paul is bound to have a better choice of stuff.

You can find the above locally, did the trick between body panels and leaky gaps when the land rover was being restored

I have used this stuff myself on many occasions. Worked pretty well, but if OP wants to paint over the seam, then this will not be of use.
