4DR5 Engine Heat Indicator

Hi Guys,

Could anyone suggest me how or where to find the coil of the engine heat indicator of a 4DR5 J44. It was burnt out. I attach the image herewith. Thanks.

Suggest building a time mechiene and going back in time.35 byears.

Or, get a new sensor and meter wired in, (Are you running 24v?)

Correction. Its 42 years now. And still looks young. 

Yes. its 24v. It is a simple cable that is getting noticeably heated when the ignition key is turned to left side. I prefer to fix it rather than adding a new sensor. Any idea about the coil please?

why not replace the wire with a piece of he4ating element from a hot plate,..?

As I figure, you just need a glow wire to show you the glow plugs are hot.

@Nishan.dj did u try to contact the 4DR5 group / owners club in SL, they might have or recommend a fix for the problem.

Anyone knows a place I can buy Nichrome wires? I visited few electronic shops and no hope. I can use it (may be a 18AWG). If you know a place, please post. Thanks.

Guys,

Thanks for your suggestions and I fixed it with a Nichrome Wire 18AWG and works fine which it gets hot (RED) in about 10-12 seconds.
