Closest Mountain View kinda Cheap bunglow hotel

Hi All.. I'm looking for a Closest (to colombo) Mountain View kinda Cheap bunglow hotel to chill for one night and day... apart from kitual kanda and that mathugama place.. whats the next best closest place with a mountain view ? I'm ok to go upto like 125kms...

its for the 11th and 12th Feb plus its not for just a couple.. 4 girls and 3 boys sure do recommend

In that case the scope is not what I had in mind. Also you can try http://www.gallenawatta.com/ a whole bungalow with a river by the side to take a dip in instead of a pool. If you don't mind travelling a bit more and a colder climate try http://www.blackwood.lk/. That's a hotel and a bungalow together.

However ,with your budget and other requirements I think Diya Ulpotha is the place for you.

I also love to go to ella.. but few in the gang doesnt like because its too far for a 2 day trip...

lol cheap one's are all booked... im wondering whether the whole sri lanka is on vacation on that week because not a single place is available..

Even the expensive ones are booked, I had to shift my trip to March because of unavailability

I found a place in kahatuduwa.. I can't remember the name, a friend booked... lovely view its a bunglow... 3k per person...

so its time for the annual trip again.. this time we have extended the budget... how much does the blackwood bunglow cost btw? the requirement this time is a 3 day trip and should be in the mountains far far away from colombo and should be cold.. the plan is to stay the first night in 1 place and the 2nd night in another new places within a 100km radius... any suggestions guys?

Yes roads were ok when I went there 2 1/2 years ago but I don't think the roads have changed much.

Yep. the roads are good. Went there few months ago during April holidays and my Familia and my friend's 110 pulled up without any issues. There were even WagonR's going up as well. So cant see why a Cefiro with a full load would fail

Whole host of places around Nuwara Eliya if you want a far place to freeze your bottom off, and there are AirBnB options to research too.

I personally recommend this one, it was actually my grandfathers old house, sold on to developers decades ago after his death. They have really done up the place nicely.

If you want cold, this place is cold, seasonally. I was up in that area in July.... I recommend wearing socks while sleeping.

Also the road from Kandy thru Hanguranketha was done up recently and in excellent condition. So no fear for any cars. Lovely drive for passengers who can look around Driver needs to keep his eyes on the road, rather lot of corners.
