Corolla 141 vs Allion and 121

Dear Experts,

I was searching for a car to buy and always hear from around that not to go for a 141 but 121 and Allion? Could you please let me know if any reason behind this please? I found good 141 in market with reasonable price but am confused. Thanks in advance.

Why didn't you ask those who recommended the 121 the reason to recommend it over the 141 before getting "confused"?

If you read these threads you will understand the reason for low demand for 141.

I did ask but hope you will know the answers from Mechanics.., I thought of having kind of expert views from the Forum....so i do post....

I have noticed that most of those who say the 141 is bad and one should go for a much older vehicle are those who just keep repeating it like parrots after they themselves heard it from somewhere.

There is nothing wrong with the 141...well at least nothing more wrong with the 141 than the 121. Its just that the fuel economy is a bit low compared to the 121 because Toyota miscalculated a few things. But I believe the later revisions made it a bit better. Apart from that...the 141 was considered to lack a bit of refinement when it comes to interior finish compared to the 121.

buying a 121 in 2018 is like going on a date with Sumana Gomes. Seriously - i went car hunting 3 years ago and i checked out dozens and dozens of these cars almost all the 121's were abused piles of crap painted over with horrible plastic 'G' badges stuck here and there. Allions were slightly better off but still worn out...the 141s were actually quite good. To me it's a no brainer  9 out of 10 time's I'd pick the 141 ...on the 10th I'd pick a 141.

141s after 2010 or so had an engine update with Dual VVti engine. It does better on fuel compared to 2007/8 ones. Looks good too.

I think you can even find a first owner 141 with proper maintenance records as most of them came for permit.

Also there are diesel 141s, if you are interested. (As I remember they were like 34laks for permit in 2008)

My mom has a 141, 10 years old only routine maintenance, i mean absolutely no repairs.
