Hyundai Tucson 2011 Radio Display

Sanjaya Kasthuri Arachchi

Question

Dear Experts,

I own a Hyundai Tucson 2011. When I travel to office, I have no options to park it under a shady place. So it is always parked under direct sunlight which has caused the top most layer  of the radio to peel off. Seems like, this is the layer which helps us to see what is projected on the display (Just under this layer, there is this blue glass which does not show anything).

Please check the images shared below for reference. I was trying to get it repaired from few places (Nugegoda / Delkanda area) and they seems to not what that they can do. Now that layer is almost about to come out of the radio display. Really appreciate if you can advise me on this.

Well that display looks toast. Pretty sure it's unrepairable unless you find a recon media player identical to yours and replace the whole unit.

Why not turn this to an opportunity to upgrade your ICE?

That's your car saying "Welcome to 2022! it's time to upgrade to a 2DIN entertainment system!" 😇

This one looks cool

Well I'm not sure if this will work..... Give a try with Pet#o - they have replaced some Ford Focus units  but again not sure if its the same screen type.

Do you you use a sun cover ? If not - then it's your fault.. it helps reduce the light and helps keep the car cooler. Also leave a small space when you close the shutters so that hot air goes out... If rain is the issue, after market door visors are there ....

Show it a car audio place like Pet#o Lanka or Bara Stereo and see if the screen can be repaired. They do it sometimes and if not;

You can go this route ;) Keep in mind nowadays that the audio shops quote a premium price on the units they have already brought down :(
