Identifying B15 Super Saloon From An Ex Saloon

L board

Recommended Posts

Dear Friends. Do you know how to identify a Nissan FB15 Super Saloon from an Ex Saloon. My friends say that some people put the Super Saloon Badge on Ex Saloons and sell them at higher prices. Rather than relying on the badge, is there anyway that you can identify a genuine super saloon?

the Ex Saloon has better quality wiring and the FF model can easily be converted to the 4WD version

cable throttle and Plastic molding quality including is much more superior than the super saloon. door bounce trims and are all round the bumpers, mud guards with " Nissan" molded on to it for a sporty offroad look

no tach gauge but to integrate one externally is very much easy

better reaction time on transmission control module between models the Ex Saloon has a quicker changeover on gears as compared to the super saloon which tends to be lazy on a kickdown from 0 to 60

(someone please continue the list)

1) RPM meter

2) rear headrest

3) retract mirrors

Since the thread is active after years,

We had a FB15 super saloon for almost 10 years in our family  until we sold it in 2011. Additional to what is mentioned here, the super saloon has that EX saloon doesn't are

Automatic airconditioning system

Rear arm rest

Rear cupholders popping out from centre console box

A hook to hang parcels at the back of front passenger seat

Trunk light

Electrically adjustable side mirrors

Original fog lights (not sure about this)

Interior nickle door handles

It was a very comfortable car to ride in. Had problems with ground clearance and some sensors.
