Drags On 24th

IMO it was a display of poor organizing skills and poor knowledge of drags, they could have just held some biking events on that track rather than inviting cars and collecting money from participants. Was very disappointing when everyone saw the race track. When we asked an organizer is this track suitable for racing, they guy said "okkomala riderla ne inne ae nisa awulak nae" lol. Or else they could have organized a drifting event rather than hosting drags on tht curvy track lol. Sad thing was many nice cars were parked at random places around the venue, while just bikes were running. Anyway in our case also drive there & back was fun, with few drags along the way....

saw the pics on FB as well.. Man Drags down GP seem like an international profesional event compared to this Btw mate no cops with the rumoured speed guns along the way?

The main reason is TOO MANY BIG SHOTS and ORGANIZERS...i have seen most of racers,riders and even some big shot importers on organizing panel..

SOme were flexible and some were fuking JERKS.... they havnet accepted 2 evo conversions from marawila...they came all the way along and got nutting..f**king bastards...

The crown was out of control, they wont listening to any of the announcements and they have their chit chats on the middle of the Track, like bugatti said i have never seen such big crowd for an event, but those didn't know what the Hell is Drag Racing, anyway most of the Colombo GT cars were there, including the monster skyline, Evos and STi's always come to GP, the Track is not gud for GT cars, i think there is 500 m to run then less than 50 m bend to break and if u unable to stop the car u end at colombo-kandy road breaking the barriers, so GT boys left

Anyway i did a solo run and after the car move all the people around jump to the track to see how the car goes etc, so if a car comes behind then hes in deep shit, also i did a 300 m run and i had to do my best to stop the car.

people went all the way from colombo to kurunagala to participate in this Event, its all waste of time and money, i have done around 290km today, organizers charged 600rs for a entry but not a single car got a chance to run, this is totally disappointing, i have given up hopes of any more official Drags cus when someone try to organizers something then the "old pundhit dudes" pulling from their legs, also when the organizers get an opportunity to do an event they mess everything

Ok... I've found my self back at home in Colombo, so did some of the super cars.. I believe GFX too is on his way back.

The event was quite badly organized... there was no place to park, and there were more people you would find at a Michael Jackson concert... yes, and the people, well.. they were all over the place, even on the so called 45 foot wide track.

Tried to wade thru the crowd n made my way to what I thought was the start line.. but then saw some of the official arguing among them selves... that was quite hilarious.

Either way, the drive back to Colombo was good fun.. had the road to our selves

Shall post some pics, i managed to take.

on the way home we saw a big accident, a van crashed to a "katina perahara" and kit 6 kids, saw people hammering the driver and the van, yes no space to park and that track is gud for riders, basically the cars are for the "Car show" and the bikes are for the "Drags" what a looser's.

This was a TOAL RIP OFF... I'm not bragging bout the Rs.600/- I paid, but the fuel I wasted making the trip..!!!!! I saw Madz's car parked the so guess he would be able to make a few comments of his own.

There was a fat dude, I believe was a part of the organizer.. who thought he knew all bout motor sports.. I pity that IDIOT..!

Bloody Barbecue stands were VIRTUAL.. yes, you had to imagine they were there.. and yes, the DJ... well, he was there... minus the sounds and the music....

I got the alert thanks to my COBRA..... was doing bout the same (140 km/h) on the Giriulla road, (one awesome road) didn't bother to stop cos I was pissed...

event was a total flop. But as I remember DJ did play some classic hits though, like songs of Aqua and stuff, pretty much rocking heh heh

LOL even Mopeds and similar 50CCs ran at the start of the event

u guys left the city too early.......dats da saddest part...U could share some drinks and mary jane with MOPED boys ...and had some on dambulla road in the mid night hours...

Yep I agree with the rest...it sure was a waste of time & money for all da colombo boys who went there!

But hay at least they tried a public [legal] drag event!! we should give some credit for that...it would be some good experience for others who are planing to do it next
