There’s been a couple of posts asking members how efficient various vehicles are on fuel. And with the prices going up by Rs.8/= and with news in the air that it will go up again by another Rs.3/= soon, its getting even more important…

So what do you say we post the following details

KMPL City : 7-10 (depend on what mode ur driving)

KMPL Outstaion : 10 - 12 (depend on what mode ur driving)

How was your FB14 on fuel?

and outstation 10-12 but got 14 without AC with very very carefull driving

Could Mitsubishi worse than Nissan on fuel? I got blasted from my relations when I bought my Lancer for not going for a commont type as Corolla or Sunny.

That’s just the stupid follow the herd mentality in Sri Lanka, fuel economy isn’t the only benchmark when buying a car. The average Sri Lankan car buyer tends have zero knowledge about cars, the only way they find if a car is good or not is by comparing the fuel mileage and they go "ahh meke arakata wadiya petrol wada karanawa eka hinda meka thamai honda car eka" which is pretty idiotic. If you get all what you expected from the car does it really matter which badge it has ?

Yes that's what I'm thinking as well. Btw I'm quiet satisfied with my choice as it's not that bad on fuel and even if it's bad, it's not my highest concern. Just want to know whether the fact is correct in general.

Please be kind enough to maintain a sane distance with the vehicle in front of you. You might save on fuel, true.

But other drivers behind you will burn more trying to beat the drivers from other lanes getting into the long length

of empty space created in front of you.

Life is miserable enough on the road in the morning. Contribute even by a little bit to make it better.

Engine Capacity : 1500 CC ( Tyre - 195 ballon size )

Fuel : 95 Octane

Km per Ltr (city/long distance) : City 8-9 / Outstation - 12 -13

Can some one share the info about Premio 2007 up models - 1500 CC and 1800 cc comparison (my gut feeling is that 1800 should do as much as 1500 cc)

Does anyone know the long distance figures for the BMW 520d and X3.

I’m looking for a comfortable safe cruiser for a drive 250-300 km at a stretch every week end so the kmpl also will matter. (Colombo - Trinco)

Econo boxes will not work due to comfort and safety factors.
