Stop it mchn.It will lead to Brand wars....

Well how on earth is posting a picture going to lead to that? Unless of course that makes you want to rush out and do the same to your car? Even then, that'd be another issue altogether rather than a brand war.

Besides I don't get how you can can consider my statements insinuative when you're the one making unjustified claims. As an automotive enthusiast I look forward to expanding my knowledge base; which is why I initially inquired about your claim on this thread and on another; about how Civic's have more 'power'.

But I digress, to come back to your statement: Making unsubstantiated claims and then blindly standing by them is what leads to a 'brand war' and I'm not doing that now am I?

Cum on boys the EG isn't that bad? You can do miracles with it. It's a fun car to drive. Well I do believe that all cars have it's own power but it all depends on how you drive it!!!!

Was joking, i think EG is the popular Civic chasis (for swaps and such), whatever others say ;)

FB14- Power: 86 kW , 115 HP @ 6,000 rpm; 108 ft lb @ 4,000 rpm

gross weight - (kg) 1,458,

(horsepower:pounds) = 0.0357771759602

Ek3(97)-Power: 95 kW , 127 HP @ 6,600 rpm; 107 ft lb @ 5,500 rpm

gross weight-(kg) 1,402

(horsepower:pounds) = 0.041088609835926

Ae110(98) -Power: 89 kW , 120 HP @ 5,600 rpm; 122 ft lb , 165 Nm @ 4,400 rpm

gross vehicle weight rating (kg) 1,608

(horsepower:pounds) = 0.033850176865653

This proves that the Civc (Ek3) is more powerful than the Corolla and Sunny. And yup you didnt make a statement saying that something is faster than the other.Anyway that car looks weird and i will never ever do such a thing to my car so dont worry about that. :D

Thank you for the post. That break down is very informative and quite extensive which is awesome for it leads us into meaningful conversation which like I said is the reason we are here. Contrary to popular belief the members on this forum (which I hope includes you) aren't here to mouth off at each other or run down each other's rides. We're all here to discuss our common passion and share knowledge.

So having said that can I ask you:

1. What difference does +/- 10hp make during daily driving? Can you even tell the difference?

2. Based on the figuares above I don't see how you can claim the Civic is more powerful. What criteria did you base your conclusion on? The figures you've posted actually argue against the fact that the civic is more powerful. Not only does the Corolla have more hp, but based on what you've posted, the Sunny AND the Corrolla have higher torque values (at lower Revs as well, let me point out) than the Civic. As you might know, during daily driving, its torque that really counts and not top end speed for you're constantly accelerating and decelerating while navigating through traffic. (Even at highway speeds [around 110kmph-120 kmph] its torque that matters as you accelerate to hit the gaps or navigate around slower vehicles in your lane.)

This is hilarious... dude, don't be a frog in the well. You need to ride in either Peri's or MRM's Nissan.. (if they let you) and both of them, are Nissan Pulsar.. :o

your figures are all over the place, pretty sure the corolla figures are wrong, also gross vehicle weight is not the measure you should use to calculate power to weight..

besides, the civic engines have Vtec while the other two cars dont. So its not really comparing like with like. For a closer comparison, you should get the figures of the non vtec civic exi... that has somewhere around 110 horses if i remember right, and the sunny and corolla also have 110-115 and the weight is actually only a couple of kilos either way.........End result: pretty much identical, just like the japs intended since these are family sedans we are talking about.

why are we still having this discussion again?
