If it does average 13-15 kmpl also you consider that you are lucky...BTW..coming back to your question, I think a proper engine tuneup would help a bit of improvement... sathyajithj99
I also have axio 2008 x limited. The best it did so far was when I went to Anuradhapura and came back to Colombo with 17.9 KMPL. So the figures you are having are quite reasonable. An engine tuneup maybe helpfull. Continue with doing services on time. By the way did you change CVT oil at 40,000km. maheshw
Go for a complete efi tune up might sort out if it has any issue as said. Also dnt belive on what your indicator shows it can be high kmpl or less kmpl which can be different to real world figures better to follow our manual process to calculate the kmpl. Yes...like everyone else said it is about high time you did a tune up Edited February 14, 2015 by iRage
Crishan
Did you consider the kmpl while accelerating also? Just don't look at the indicator and come to a justification. If you want to calculate it properly fill up you tank and make the mileage of your odo 0. When you pump fuel next time ( full tank) devide the mileage done with the number of litres pumped. I only limit my self to pump fuel in the IOC located next to SBC town hall. i say it did around 19-20 once...the indicator showed that...i dont have a picture to show...but why i want to say lies here? i dont want to take it back to around 19 lol..i know it never can....but i want to have at least around 14kmDid you consider the kmpl while accelerating also? Edit: this is the first time I heard such numbers out of an Axio. This is a good news for hybrid seekers as now the Axio will be an better alternative to an overpriced Prius. chamatharavinda
yes...i think that too....as servicing every 5k.... i think a tune up also required after certain milage period

iRage
What is the optimum milege to do a full tune-up? ( for a B/N vehicle) I have no idea how to answer your question... It depends on the car. Different manufacturers have different schedules that go through progressive check-replace stages (So it is not necessarily a wait for a x period of time and then change everything in an “EFI tune-up” as what some people seem to do). Some cars require certain things checked/replaced whilst others don’t; even within the same model line like a Corolla (e.g. a E100 series Corolla would have different items and schedules than 120 series Corolla). For example; according to my local Toyota dealer my E100 Corolla wagon has a recommended “tune-up” @25K where some engine related items include (loosely translated) "timing ignition inspection" (i guess they check the timing ? check spark plugs, cables etc.. ?), “valve inspection” (I have no idea what this means either ? possibly check clearance ? and any unusual knocks ?), air filter check/replace. Then at a 50K checkup there were the things from the 25k check-up plus something to do with seals, fuel system inspection, plus others. In the RAV4 some items in the 25K and 50K schedule for the Corolla are checked only at like a 100K service (whilst it still has checks at 25K, 50K, etc) In some cars checking/replacing items like the fuel filter requires complicated tasks like engine dismantling and costs a lot so they increase the service cycle of such parts (in the RAV4 the rear seats need to come off and the filter is about 24000yen compared to the 1350 yen for the 4A-GE fuel filter hanging in the engine bay; has iridium plugs which lasts for 75+K kms vs copper plugs in the 4A-GE). In both cases all check-ups included a "diagnostic ECU reading" (I think that means run a diagnostic and make any adjustments needed and instigate further checks as needed). Considering this is Japan some things are less aggressive than what they would be in SL. Also some of these service items are done at the annual vehicle check-up (optional and the date it was done and when the next is due is indicated on the sticker that looks like a clock face on the top left hand side corner of the windscreen) and also the shaken renewal inspection. Depends on the usage. Most manufacturers give two different service schedules. One for normal usage and another for hard usage. For example in the RAV4 normal usage schedule includes CVT oil check and change at 100K but hard usage that is done at 50K or 75K. What most people don’t realize is that most of them actually fall in to the hard usage category (bad fuel, lot of stop and go driving, short drives per trip not letting engine, etc..heat up properly, etc…).Since you are in Sri Lanka running your car in a high temp dusty environment, with possibly lots of stop and go driving and poor fuel, you should get a full “tune-up” done. Some things, I think you should look in to checking and replacing if needed on a more frequent basis. @chamatharavinda: For some reason I get the feeling that you haven’t even changed the air filter for the last 56K. I guess by cleaning you mean injector cleaning ? May I also suggest you look in to doing a bit more like checking your CVT oil, etc… Edited February 15, 2015 by iRage
chamatharavinda
never change the air filter....CVT oil changed at 40k...anyhow...the things people normally replacing when a problem occurs, im gonna replace before it give running problem and save the fuel and save the car.....else we just running everyday only changing the engine oil only and servicing only....thinking other things never get beat..... How on earth did you manage to pull that off ? Every car I have ad to use in SL needed an airfilter WAY before 56K and sometimes more than once. I am surprised that the guy who does your service hasn't tried to sell you air filters every time you go for an oil change ! Also, there are a lot of things you should inspect and change before it starts giving problems. Do a search on the forum there should be a few threads on car maintenance. Which is a copper plug made by DENSO part number K16R-U. Looking for NZE141 1NZ-FE DENSO and NGK iridium spark plugs for the JDM market indicate the following: NGK Iridium MAX : DF5B-11A Premium RX : LFR5ARX-11P Denso Iridium : FK20HR11 http://www.globaldenso.com/en/products/aftermarket/plug/topics/2007/05_2.html (this no longer seems to be there) Iridium Tough : VFKH16 When I searched for NGK Iridium IX BKR5EIX-11 on Yahoo auctions and other part shops in Japan the application chart showed a whole list of Honda motorbikes. However the NGK global site showed a whole list of cars for the UK market. So I think you need to do some more research and figure out what your exact plugs are. Maybe even go to a few shops ask to see the plug find out prices and part numbers. EDIT: After digging in a bit deeper that plug MIGHT work ! Only thing is you need BKR5EIX-11P,(NOT JUST BKR5EIX-11) which is actually for a Corolla Spacio ! Also it is for pre 2008 1NZ-FEs (thus the application for a SPACIO); which might make a difference due to differences in gap , etc....if there is any. It would save a lot of hassle and you don't have to wait for that to arrive for you to do the tune up. Not that it would make a difference anyway...
