Love how it looks. Would you put skinny tall tires or put wider tires?

I have a feeling if you put wider tires it will kill the engine power. I've seen many say there are lots of benefit with skinny tall tires.

Me personally have used wider tires for the looks on my vehicle but will look to reduce the width and go little tall when its time for tires next.

Thanks mate.

Keeping it skinny.

Few reasons to do so are-

1. Looks more original.

2. Much better off road(specialy in narrow and tricky bits).

3. Cheaper.

4. Easier on the suspension and running gear, etc.

5. Pulls much better with skinny.

6. Not as noisy as them fatty rubbers.

7. Every 4dr guy seems to get it nowadays. And hoon around town on pavements.

The 4runner is actually better with the original trd off road pack tires. We used to sell the lifted with the big wheels(custom made by DSI). Slow and very noisy. Handles bad too.

Thank goodness! I saw the figuare and I was like: NO WAY! ? 4.0 mil gets a nice Harrier or a Forester so, that makes a project like this unfeasible (for me at least). 2.5 to 2.0 mil makes a lot of sense....

Right? 4mil is BJ40/defender/patrol/LC/pajero territory.

Thank you. Indeed! Although the Jeep grabs the most attention from people...

Yes absolutely! 4 mil gets you a decent a on-road / soft off roader type vehicle, including an older Harrier, LC or a very decent Forester XT which would be what I would consider...

If you want very good off road capabilities I’d say Patrol or LC. But if you wanted better on road manners, yes a nice foz with a spooly thing would be awesome!

Just a minor update.

Washed and waxed her.

So far has been off-roading over 10 times. Performed very well. She’s been to all the parks in the country. 0 issues. But then again my brother is highly experienced off-road, so that might be why its been a breeze.

We actually have plans to swap the KE-31 and drop a 4dr6. OR overhaul the KE-31 and upgrade it for more power.

Pic update.

She will be in for an overhaul in Jan. No issues, but inner OCD hitting us.
Would like more power for on-road usage. Touches 100, but would like more speed.

She will also get front disk brakes.

*pic taken at someone’s home, So did some baad touch up work on it. *

Also a testament to how time changes people and we have to move away from something we once loved.

The Jeep is with a bunch of teenagers who crashed it bad multiple times and take it to cringe parades and really suicidal tik-toks. Also some of the people involved in this restoration are not on speaking terms. Covid really taught me that everything is temporary mostly.Maybe even family...
