Question

hi all,

Today i faced a serious problem in my FB15(automatic transmission). In the morning when i start the car it displayed red battery indicator, saying that battery problem is there. I ignored that and drove for about 10 KM, an suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road. And it showed all the indicators. And after a minute i could start the vehicle and could drive it for another 2km, and then it stopped it again. and this scenario happened 4 more times, and i however managed park it at office. Now i cant drive it back to any place,

i can start and drive for 100m and then it stops. and i can start again after some time.

Has anybody experienced such problem ?. please help me do diagnose the problem. And please recommend me a way to get it fixed at my place(wellawatta), or a way how i can tow it back home/garage...

please... help me ASP . (need a way to go home :)

and pray tell, what exactly did you mean by that? the general assumption if you make the statement "See nissan users" is that you are in fact talking about people who drive nissan cars, since to the best of my knowledge, Nissan do not make washing machines or refrigerators and so on.... so you really cant fault anybody for assuming things, you've brought it upon your own silly self by some of your previous statements.

Several people have said this before but it doesnt seem to get into that head of yours, (which makes us all worry about the state of the inside of it, hence ash's advice to seek professional help, which you might want to consider)...... TAKE OFF THE BLINKERS MATE!!!

Cool it mate, not worth...

I think some clowns don’t know what they’re talking about or don’t know how to express themselves OR simply showing their ignorance.

In the case of you, Nilantha.... I really think you’ve never driven a car other than a Toyota, and more precisely I don’t think you even own a Toyota. You must have driven to Colombo in a Toyota badged bullock cart from Vanni.

End of the story.

well there's this belief that they tend to be cheap, drive like mainacs.. and oh, and have huge ego's .. of course that's all purely an absurd generalization, (and it only applies to Sunny drivers anyway)

Thats is very wrong! I have a P11 and my wife has a 121. In between us we have owned Toyotas, mazdas, Hondas and a Subaru. Her last car was N16 and my last car was Toyota Platz and a 87 Accord before that and a 90 323 Interplay. All these cars have issues of some sort or the other. the Mazda had a squeaking AC Comp that never let me down but never ran quiet also, the Honda had a faulty Water pump and a forever failing brake force distributor that could never be fixed completely despite getting all parts from Teck, the PLatz had an annoying rattle that could never be traced. But each and every one of these cars had their won unique way of giving joy. Especially the Honda.

So far the 121 drives ok, but then she is brand new. My Primera P11 has its own set of problems. Last weekend it also started acting funny and I had to replace the IC in the alternator as the battery was about to explode due to over charging. As it was too expensive to replace the damn alternator, my electrician jury rigged a regulator outside the alternator and she is working fine now. But then when we drive cars that are older than 5 years we have to be prepared to put in some elbow grease in order to make them work properly

I do no simply agree that there is such a thing as a crappy brand or a crappy car. Its all about how we use them and how we take care of them. Toyotas have problems, Nissans have problems and all other man made machines has problems. Its just a matter of being mature about it and looking after the cars properly without blaming all around for your problems.

well said mate :)

It's ok to love one's own brand of choice but bashing somebody else's is not a very nice thing to do...especially when you don't know what you're talking about... I too think Nilantha has only driven toyota's... even maybe a limited selection of it :)

I myself own a toyota and my best buddy just got a v35 sky... bashing nissan would be rather stupid to say the least :angry-smiley-048:

Considering that I used to drive a Sunny California, I'd tend to disagree with ur generalization.

Pls ignore the avatar. Thats more applicable to the current ride, and even then, not all that often.

Now is def not the time to bash the BRAND. Not just after the GT-R launch.

You took the words right out of my mouth dude, the legacy of some of the Nissans are astonishing, starting with the Skyline range. Correct me if I am wrong, a friend of mine from Auz once told me that the Bathurst 500 was made open and the Japs brought in the first batch of Skylines with their 2.4 motors and Ceramic turbos. Very soon, the Skylines were literally running circles around the massive Ford and Holden Supercharged v8s. the other teams were so pi55ed off that they made a rule that only V8s can compete and no more Jap Ricers!!!! Ha ha ha ha/ Apparently the Nissan Manager walked off the podium after the last race (they won) and told the gathered journalists that V8 drivers are pu55ies. I don't know how true this is but it sure was fun listening to the story.

he he...respect for those jap dudes eh :) nice to see asians beating the snot out of the rest of the world with cheaper but more reliable automotive technology :)

Being able to bash a super car like a Porsche 911 turbo with the new GT-R35 for fraction of the price is quite amazing :)

Hi.. Guys,

It is great to have a set of nice people willing to help each other when one is in trouble. I greatly appreciate your advices.

Finally i could solve the problem. I took the vehicle to a alternator repairing place and they diagnosed that the voltage regulator IC of the alternator is bad.(they said due to a water leak) . Before repairing the alternator battery voltage was around 11.75-12.25V. now it goes upto 13.85V. Now the vehicle is doing pretty well. Thanks again for all your valuable responses...

Thats nice and I have the same issue and I want to know how much it costs you to fix it back and from where you did it. Actually my car runs even tho the issue is there but the only problem I am having is now the pick up of the car is totally gone. I also assume this is the same issue what I am facing and appriciate if you can share the details how much it costs you and from where you did it also a contact number of them.

Thanks

You realise this question is 10 years old right? I highly doubt he is still waiting at office for a mobile battery service.
