Haven't had much time to work on the car.  Few parts came in the mail though

First off the ECU.

YES! An ECU πŸ˜‚. I'll be converting the stock carb A12 to EFI.Since this engine going to be boosted its much easier and safe to change fueling and ignition through a laptop than fiddling with jet sizes and distributor springs and what not.

This is a low cost DIY Arduino based ECU called "Speeduino". Took me few days to assemble the ecu as it comes in individual parts.  This little guy can run engines upto 8 cylinders. Has an 250kpa internal map sensor too. Since its arduino based I'll be adding a bluetooth module to communicate with the ecu wirelessly.

Managed to 3d print and enclosure for the ecu out of abs plastic. Im still sceptical about the ecu connector. But this this will have to work for now.

One more thing came in the mail πŸ˜…

Its a 1100cc e85 compatible (not that i need ) injector. I'll be running and SPI (single point injection) set up for now.  This will flow more than enough fuel for the engine.

Parts from Perth? That`s great.!  I know there`s a small Datto community here, quite a few 1200`s (batu sunny), 1200 utes,  1600`s,  Z`s etc...  1600 (Bluebird) prices are through the roof these days, nothing decent for less than 20k AUD.!   120y`s (b211) and b310`s come up for sale from time to time. They are still relatively cheap..

Let me know if you want me to follow something up with a seller here etc...

Great stuff! An Arduino fan myself with several boards around the house powering my home automation system. The first time I'm hearing about Speeduino. Pretty cool!

As @MrCat said, there's a great Datsun community here. Not just in Perth, but in most other states as well. Prices of highly sought after models have definitely sky-rocketed in the past couple of years. It's crazy!

There's a few local websites as well that shop internationally. Happy to provide details.

Thanks @Davy! Yeah its a neat bit of kit. Everything fuel injection is an Aussie based speeduino ECU manufacturer(https://www.everythingfuelinjection.com/) check this out if you are keen on sourcing locally.

I checked out "Datsun parts shop" they have everything I need but its not cheap πŸ₯²πŸ˜”

Yes please! If you can kindly share a few websites that'll be great!

thank you!

Nice! You'd be lucky to find one for less than 30K these days.

Thanks!

Actually, Datsun Parts Shop is one of the main ones. Has loads of parts for the B110. Another one is Mad Dat.

For weather strips and rubber beadings and stuff, you can try Rare Spares

Wow.!!  6k 180sx`s (and 5k Skylines) are surely a thing in the past.. These days you`d be lucky to find a roller for that..  I didn't expect this massive demand for Japanese sports (or sporty) cars really, but Covid just accelerated it.. Cant even find an Integra Type S for sale anymore.!

Im glad you like itπŸ˜ƒ! Well everything (engine, gearbox, wiring, suspension, brakes) except for the bodywork is done by me, at least im hoping to. There will be the occasional visit to a workshop, machine shop πŸ€—

Thanks again, will try my best to update the blog. You can also follow the build @therustywagon on IG.

stay safe!

Great project dude! I planned to integrate an Arduino in my lancer wagon. Keep the Arduino hidden with the ability to track the car, warn about speed, door not locked, battery, oil, temper and stuff.

Efi conversion is interesting. I'd like to do the same. Keep us posted. Good luck with your project πŸ‘

Cheers @varotone! That's a great idea. Arduino mega is an excellent platform to  experiment with. Efi conversion is pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it.

Thanks again! Stay safe!
