Changing Break Oil

SMalcom

Question

Dear Experties

I have recently purchased Toyota Vios 2006 (Face lift) model and i have heard that break oil has to be changed after 40k done. Since i dont have previous records i am thinking to change it now (but braks are working with no issues). If I do so

1. From where can i do this ( Around Malabe is prefered)?

2. What is the best oil brand i should use?

Please comment

Thank you in advance

You can get it done by Koswattha laugfs also, the Rs 1600 Labor cost, and around 1 L of Brake fluid will be needed.

Today I inquired the same for my Lancer, that was their estimation for my car. So it would be the same for your case too.

It's advisable to do it using the Vacuum machine if the Car equipped with ABS. things will be difficult if Air trapped in ABS unit. done it at the Agents, if I remember correct, it doesn't cost you that much. pitstop used to have bleeder machine but not anymore.

The place is good. But stay near the car if you can. There are new trainees who doesn't know even how to unscrew a nut.

Has anyone tried the new Toyota Lanka Service point at Hyde Park Corner where Nalaka Tire & Wheel Allignment used to be??

I'm looking to do the same this week and will likely end up at Pitstop for some additional work as well but i wouldn't mind if i could find a place with a machine as well....

Nope. But I did the same to the forester when I upgraded to STI brakes and went Dot4. That time we used the machine. No issues.
.... And I did the Alfa 164 brakes fluid change also at PitStop using the machine and had no issues.

The machine is useful when you have ABS. Apparently Pit stops's one is no longer in operation (the machine which not only exchanges brake fluid but operates the ABS pump to circulate brake fluid through it so air bubbles don't get trapped inside).
