On this subject – I’ve used Car Check and they did a decent job with a full inspection of the vehicle and shared some finding the owner also did not know – To be fair, I asked the team to explain the findings to the owner as well – that way to be very transparent. Either way I was very lucky as the Owner is a True Gentlemen to the last bit …. They are very hard to come bay when selling vehicles…. The report covered a lot of areas which helped me get to know how much I need to keep as reserves to get them fixed. Also the seller knew that I was not bring a Maka - Bass to to condemn the car …. 1. There are a lot of fake 1st owner, 2nd owner cars out there … I’ve had my share of visits and arguments …. So golden rule – look for maintenance history ….. if there is nothing and still a first owner – be prepared to have some backup cash for fixes… there will always be something needed. If there is a history, be prepared to pay a it more…. And when no history – well vise versa calming that there is no history. 2. DO NOT BE IN A HURRY - there is always another good deal around the corner- I initially regretted not getting a Ford which I loved but it served me well as I got a one off(Uncommon ) ride which I simply love…… - Now the seller of the Ford has put it up for sale again with less than 4 months usage asking an even absurd price.

would there not be a fine ? ........ This is another game that I'v noticed.... Sorry Zinger ..... not trying to blame you but the sad part is many buy & sell vehicles on open papers ... so they advertise as 1st owner etc... but sad truth is there hare several.... All good if there is proper maintenance records ......... All is fine in doing this until the vehicle u sold gets in to the wrong hands or is trouble... as the authorities trace it back to the owner and there is a hassle in that

Hi Dashcamo, so seems you have already busted some cash.... Better than repairing is to replace with a recon part . Shall DM some contact numbers who have parts, call them and check . I believe the cost difference is marginal - last time i checked and have heard the repaired ones give away sooner... but you will need someone to choose a good rack so a mechanics help is recommended \

iRage has put it very clearly..... Would like to make a kind and humble request ......having a deep respect for Ford...... Please 🙏 don't attempt to give it to a Maka Bass to convert it to a double cab... I've seen some been done and they are utter hideous..... It would be a shame to cut and mess up such a beautiful machine....... but that just me with a silly request

The Nissan Wingroad is a decent car which is not too costly to maintain and parts are freely available and easy to find. Besides has decent looks and boot space which you would need during the first 3 years - There are tons of stuff to take if traveling out... ( When there is a junior in the family) 😄

MG, Chery, Proton vehicles to be assembled in Sri Lanka
mazdaspeed replied to Skyonline's topic in General Automotive
Thanks for the Info Mr. Sylvi, So sad they had abandoned the operation here and gone overseas... It probably would have been a good business had they continued. Agree with labor and way of working - most want to get easy money - A Tuk Tuk is the best example... may youth do not want to learn a trade and develop a skill . Many want to go in to office jobs after a decent education, and to be fair our education system does not provide any guidance on career options and other avenues - NITA is there but still we need to build on it is what I personally feel. -
Gear Shifting Issue Every Morning (Nissan Serena)
mazdaspeed replied to buddhi chathuranga's topic in MAZDA
Did you try starting up the car and leaving it for few minutes - say 5 Min and then engage to D ? It should move then. Looks like the dear box is on it's way out ... Good news it that there are plenty of people who can fix it well. Shall drop a PM and you can have a chat with him - He's fixed countless number of vehicles including my Mazda many years ago which had the same issue. -
MG, Chery, Proton vehicles to be assembled in Sri Lanka
mazdaspeed replied to Skyonline's topic in General Automotive
This is some good news - in my personnel and limited knowledge experience. MG is a decent vehicle and if it's assembled here we could look at export to the region. Not to mention the local market demand. Hope this will not end up like the VW story as I was truly looking forward for it ....not that I was getting wet in the rain kind of story but it would have been nice ....to have a VW -
I've heard they are really good - them night breakers .....

Sri Lanka CB to propose dollarized vehicle imports
mazdaspeed replied to Skyonline's topic in General Automotive
So very true --- this was on the cards & if CB did not see this .. well then too bad. over the past few months - leasing companies where on the path giving 90% leasing ..... at the same time they also complained that exiting leases were not getting paid..... -

Good for you with the great fuel millage as it will be very critical in the coming few weeks with a hike in prices around the corner. You had shared some good advice or me with my N16 - well we broke off 🙂 .... 5 years with her, and I had it .. not my type ..... Got back to a Mazda again..... with a Axela - Hatchback ...... feeling 8 yeas younger already......

Give a call to Tayo in Mt. lavinia - they generally bring in stuff for Euro's 0112 738 118

There is a old time guy and capable fellow who fixes these and also has spares and new units. In some models, once you remove the gauge, the speedo and other needles fall out - hence take care as calibration is needed thee after. - Faced this with the Nissan as I tired to replace a bub.... Not like the Mazda ones The location - In front of Kirulapone Police, there is a road, go on that road for about 200m, and the place is on the left side , just as you take a small hill, the road leads to baseline road. He know his stuff and has been there for ages --- Also a trend nowadays with crazy prices of cars - removing warning bulbs or pasting Instillation tape over it - have come across a few ..... So take care when buying .....

Mazda familia 323 2001 BJ5p Survice manual
mazdaspeed replied to AkGuruge's topic in User Manuals & Service Manuals
engine Oil - Best stay away form Mobil and fully synthetic Oil . Semi synthetic Or Mineral is best with Castrol, Shell . Is the Bj5P a Tiptronic ? then ATF would be M-V ; but it depends what has been used before and if it has been looked after - If it's a standard auto, then an normal Gear oil like D III is ok. Beak Oil - DOT 3 is ok Good if you can share some info on the ride also -
Please see if you can share the so called garage Guy and face if possible SO we can get people to stay away from him - Not a Big Issue ... My A#$$ Like every one has said - Replace it - Any basic knowledge /Common sense would have addressed this issue

Hi Memebers, as we are constantly going and coming out of lock down and WFH and all that Jazz thanks to Covid, wanted to se if I can get some info on an alternative Insurance scheme. I recall a certain English Radio channel promoting a company where you pay about 1/2 the premium value and the balance can be paid only if you need to make a claim. Does any one have any info on who that was or any alternative schemes ? Makes no scene to pay high values as the vehicle is mainly inside and not on the read in my case.

mmm so does this reflect on the number of previous owners ? e.g When planning to by the car there are 1 leasing company and 2 other individuals which shows as 3 owners . Hence If I do the transfer and deletion letter at one time, will there be 2 previous owners without the leasing company info ?

First, I don’t think that’s normal to have such deep lines on your disk – The technician who said it’s normal /Original should not be consulted again for sure. The depth of the marks are not visible due to the angle of the picture but you may be able to take it to a lathe and face off the groves till the whole disk is smooth. The pads seems to be the culprit – maybe some cheap stuff – What do you mean by “paste” are you referring to pasting the pads ? If yes ….. well …. I’m lost for words and will have to revert to sweet words to go further which is not allowed in this forum sadly.
