hi there! welcome to AL! well, yes the lights aren't that bad, but then, rice is rice, be it samba or basmathi. i'm hoping good clean JDM will be a nicer look. but that shot did make me reconsider, if only for a passing moment.

aptly put, hoonigan. you nailed it. to summarize your earlier post, money can't buy you what i'm making. it can't buy you love. not at this level, at least.

its 15 years old, 300- does a good 6kmpl, no batteries no IMA no launch control (not yet) no active yaw control no climate control even.

but it will be the only type R DB8 sedan in the country.

Aniwa!! Once you build something for yourself it's uniquely yours..no price tag can match that.

Good call going white on white..I'm guessing red badges all around? I'd lay off sticker bombing but it's your decision. I agree about the tail lights..they look quite at home. A little rice in the diet never hurt anybody LOL :D (key word 'little')

yup. red badges. trying to get spec ones but they're a little pricey. don't want to rivet them either. and no quarterpanel decals. will try the type R ones and my beloved "b18c - 1.8l" sickspeed sticker.

those can always come off if i choose to

an interesting eBay story:

was looking for the black seatbelts all over the place. since i changed the interior color. attempted spraying the existing ones. since that would win me that darwin award again, gave up the idea. then did some seatbelt research and found out that belts are not interchangeable with anything else as this car has dual airbags. the EG doesn't. so anyways, found what i was looking for on ebay:

kgrhqngse3ermncrubn4gdv.jpg

sadly, only coupe. no 4 door sedan listings. out of curiosity, contacted the seller.

the seller, Steve from sportsnimports, went through the trouble of:

1. checking whether the 2 door and 4 door match

2. scouring through 25 integras in his yard to find black belts in good condition

3. pressure washed them and rubbed out the rust, olied them up etc etc

4. made a listing for me and put it up

... all for $50.

the closest quotation i got from our local boys for the seatbelt set of an EG ( i would have had to say good bye to pretensioning and then get killed by the airbag, mind you) was 18,500.

i wish our parts guys shared an iota of this guys' work ethic. very very impressed!

in other news, found the entire JDM decal set from the type R DC2 teg. OEM honda stickers. you know, the jap stuff that say 91octane unleaded in the fuel lid, and the color code and tyre pressure on the door, and the SRS thingey ont he sun visor. waiting for a stressed out moment to place the order

Doesnt this come with an original red seat belt? I could be seriously wrong. Also werent you able to dye this?

nope. black belts. and nope, if i dye,

1. the belt is not as flexible

2. paint will flake off from frequent use. and get on clothes and whatnot.

Never give up on eBay. You'd be surprised at what you find!

amen to that.

I've bought every single component I put on my bike from ebay, including a brand new Yoshimura silencer around half the retail price! Trick is to put in some hours into the dig to find exactly what you are looking for (after filtering through the plethora of chinese crap listings). If you don't find what you're looking for on the main site (ie dot com) try dot co dot uk and dot co dot au. I've had a few lucky breaks where what I was looking for was listed on the UK or Aussie sites and not on the main site.

going into the engine bay soon. had a chat about the build as well. looks like that's happening in one go as well. it is easier i guess, than parting with the car again for another month....

Especially those silly mindless school kids who carry their backpacks only on one freaking shoulder for so called "Isstyle" and end up daubing their grubby little bags on our paintwork and knocking the side mirrors the other way around! :sad-smiley-066:

Nicely done! Love that Carina as well.</p></blockquote>

Indika has two of these carinas. Sadly diesel converts but he maintains them well. He also has the car I learnt to drive in. A 1993 dr sunny that was rented to my dad. Underwent a full engine swap and restoration recently. Looking like a peach.

Fondest memory of that car was the night before I left the country in 2002 when I pulled a handbrake 180 to perfection on marine drive. Can't believe I did that!

True that, mine had the issue of not closing even though you could hear the motor buzzing inside. Took it apart, luckily had a spare one lying around but sadly that was in a much worse state! Thing is in my car the little cogs inside are made of plastic and soon as people start pushing the mirror with their bare hands they break. Managed to salvage my drivers side, but no luck with my passenger side mirror! :( any help on that would be great btw!
