My car is toyota prius 3rd GEN 2010 MODEL I BOUGHT ON 2012 JUNE EARLIER MY CARS MILAGE IS FOR LONG TRIP 26 TO 30KM/L AND SHORT DISTANCE 15 to 17km/lbut now for last 2 months it reduced to 20 to 22km/ l and 12 to 14km/l please advice what is the reason

How is removing and re-inserting the battery cables supposed to increase his fuel economy? If you don't know what you are talking about, then STFU. BTW the prius does have a standard battery too.

I personally feel this battery cannot fail because this Prius vehicle is only 3 years old. High voltage batteries grantee for 100000 Kilometers or 5 years.

Contacted the pioneer S L battery assembler's son, Who is very active in battery business Having number of battery outlets.

He informed me on his mobile, when I contacted him.About Prius battery problem.

He is in China has gone there trying possibility of getting battery cells for high voltage batteries.

At present he is importing other vehicle 12Volts batteries from Hong Kong, which are made in China.

He will be back on Monday he told me that he will contact me after coming back.

Inform about replacing cells of this Prius High voltage battery. Also of high voltage battery maintenance.

I do not think this is a battery issue. If you check your vehicle in a good place they may give you a proper solution.

Long distance or short distance average speed and load also matters a lot to fuel consumption in Prius. If the change is after the tuning and there are no other changes then take it back to the arabian motors and get it checked. I assume you have maintained the car as per manufacturers instructions. (also hope you have taken increase in traffic due to new year last few weeks were also taken to consideration)

I haven't experianced any difference in fuel consumption based on the octane in my Prius 3rd Gen. If you are uncomfatable with the situation, best thing to do is get the car cheked at the agents.

I also agree, My brother Prius 3rd gen is having 120K in his meter. When it was imported it's 110K. Now he was using it more than a year and didn't had any issue. When I check the dash board, for colombo running at has around 15-17Km/L and for long distance 22-26Km/L. I haven't seen anything near 30Km/L which others tell. Things to check

1.Have you pressed Evo mode or Power mode button?

2. Look at the battery charging indicator in the dash board

Honda Insight has very informative understandable simple graphics to show the battery charging and discharging. Prius one is bit more complicated.

What's an almost near new battery??? One that has been pulled out of a used Prius in Japan??? You never know if that prius has done 100km or 1000000km although the seller will claim its nearly new.

Well like all spare parts we have to go with the word of the seller but here its been tested and comes with warranty so i guess no one is really screwed. Screwed would be if you had to pay like 500,000 Rs like some people think.
