Spectacular Suicide Attempt In Dodge Van Foiled By Pesky Cliff

They say, “Go out with a bang.” A Colorado man got the “bang” part right, but failed on the “out” when he attempted suicide by driving his van over a precipice in Colorado.

34-year-old Daniel J. Lyons and his sweet 1987 Dodge van bounced down the rocky side of the canyon at Colorado National Monument park this past Wednesday only to be brought to an abrupt halt by an outcropping. Rescue workers found him teetering over the 170-foot drop. Eventually, a litter was lowered over the edge and Lyons was pulled to safety.

Lyons is adamant the incident was an accident, but investigators couldn’t find any skid marks or other signs of mishap, indicating this was, in fact, likely a suicide attempt. The van will remain perched on the cliff below Rim Rock Drive until authorities find a way to remove it or gravity has its way. [via The Denver Post]

reminds me of the final scene from the original italian job(the one with sir micheal caine)...y'know when the bus tilts back to front over a cliff's edge

Gotta love it when engineers raid the parts bin. Don't know how old this project car is, but I really wanna see someone drive it around the Nürburgring, or at the very least around the the Top Gear test track: VW Golf GTI W12-650

machang i think top gear already tested this car..this was built for a annual golf meet or summin...apparently VW makes one special golf concept for this particular event every year,and this was one of them

ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since.'

'My God!' I said to my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'

It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed..

But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first:

the truck, the car, e-mail, fishing, always something more important to me.

Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point.

When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass,

busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.

I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house.

I was gone only a few minutes. When I came out again I handed her a toothbrush.

'When you finish cutting the grass,' I said, 'you might as well sweep the driveway.'

And then the fight started..

& here i thought mud was bad , but apparently i was wrong! :mellow:

i've heard on the stateside, where suv's are more popular they crash more often. because they got 4wd and they can accelerate harder and faster on snow they are lead to believe that their 4x4s will corner and brake just well :lol:
