The only storage device I had during school days were 3.5" floppy disks. Have any of u heard of .GL files? I remember clips of few minutes (usually less than 2 or 3 mins) with .gl filename extension. And the best part? We could fit in a few of those in to one 1.44MB floppy!

And you can imagine how mad I was when someone decided to pour a bottle of lemonade on me at the Big Match and ruined the floppy in my pocket. Never even got to go home and see it!

duude! talk about it! my friends and i ran the porn industry in college! we had tapes, magazines, VCD;s. you name it! bought one mag for 500 rupees at the local smut peddler/bookshop and sold it for 100 bucks a page!!

i once remember waiting outside in the pouring rain for my van uncle early morning, running a fever, just to pass on a VCD to a client. van guy aka kalu Jemaa was our mule/storage. i don't remember being that enthu for an exam even. learnt a lot of good things about supply, demand, business ethos and client satisfaction through that experience.

until we got busted. then learnt a lot about pain

Kinda thought I'd keep one for decent video and one for not so decent video, but if I do that, I'd have a 250GB free to give, that currently houses my not so decent

But these are the big desktop drives, 3.5 inch, not that small 2.5 portables or laptop drives. I prefer to use the bigger drives in docks, more reliable. And much cheaper so can have RAID, which is important for my pics.

A hybrid car heading to Kottawa caught fire at the 54.2 milepost on the Southern Expressway this morning, police said.

Car skidded off the road on the Southern Expressway (E01) and crashed into the security fence which caused the fire, police said.

The car had been completely destroyed. The driver managed to escape the car and he was admitted to the Elpitiya hospital.

Uragaha police are conducting investigations.

Tests being carried out on imported petrol

Preliminary tests carried out on 30,000 metric tonnes of imported octane petrol - 90 and 95 show the petrol is not up to Sri Lanka’s quality requirements, but further tests are to be carried out, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Managing Director L E Susantha Silva said.

He said 40,000 metric tonnes of recently imported stock of fuel included 25,000 metric tonnes of 90 Octane Petrol, 5,000 metric tonnes of 95 Octane Petrol and 10,000 metric tonnes of auto diesel.

Mr. Silva said the stock of diesel met with our quality requirements. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
