DarkangeL
Hello all, I'm looking to buy P11, so can anyone tell me what's the difference between a Primera and a Primera Camino? I've searched quite a bit, but I can't find a definitive answer. What I've read is that the Camino is the top of the line model, with an optional sunroof, leather interior, differently tuned suspension, and that it comes with a bodykit. But I've come across a Camino without any of those, so just wanna know the difference. If someone can direct me to some reading material or even a related thread, that would be most helpful. Plus, a 300- Primera would have to be brand new right? Did they come recon as well?
Devinda_Z
The Camino comes with slightly stiffer and differently set up suspension as you've noted - a tell tale sign is a front strut brace The engine would be a SR20DE Most of the Camino's came recon and will rnage from 300 - all the way upto a late G plates Then there are also the P11 Hyper CVT M6's with the big rear wing , full factory fitted aero kit and the triptronic 6 speed box running an SR20 VE Many of the P11's around are Brand new imports , esp 2.0L GXE's
isurujosh
i think 300- would most likely be brand new. be careful of these b/new ones as resale value depends upon the reg no. than YOM. i once checked out a b/new 300- specimen in best possible quality but the interior design was bit too spartan to my liking. may be this was rectified in later or different models. b/new ones don't have ABS too. Yeah that's what I thought. I checked a 300- (1997) one which was about a one mil. And a G numbered (1998) one which was priced at 16.5. similarnames
Hi Experts, I was lookin for a P11 CVT.M6 type for a while and finally found one in Seeduwa @ ikxxn site, GM plates, with 127k on the clock, in Okhey condition. I am not much of a fuel economy fan, so my only concern is the reliability. The car was eye candy but had an oil leak under the distributor when i went to have a look last week. What do you think guys ? I really really want to buy the car..
Crosswind
Oil leak at the distributor is not a big problem. Can be repaired or replaced (worst case) Edited December 15, 2013 by Crosswind

VVTi
Are you sure that the mileage is correct?
similarnames
Not sure the milage is genuine. However i did some research within my means to see the availability of a cvt box just in case.. Is this car familiar to u vvti ?

Agree with VVTI. it's bit hard to believe that mileage for a G* plate car. It is better to do a scan for real milage to get an idea of the vehicle

But there is NO WAY on earth that this car can have that low a mileage. Even mine was turned to show 145 when in reality it was 280 ( I later found out) Unless the seller had verifiable records I'd say it is clocked. similarnames
Ok.. That is eye opennig.. Did not give a much thought as i have been using my 1st car for the past 12 years, n the clock is still under 150k. I should re-evalute my desicion making paradigm
Crosswind
I say ignore the mileage. DOn't bother looking at the odo. Get the car thoroughly inspected ... I say thoroughly. There's a thread in AL forums started by member Saturn. It's about how to inspect a car before buying. That's a place to start. Pls search for it. Careful when going for the CVT ones as they do tend to give problems if it has not been cared for properly by using the proper gearbox oil. Yes, the ones with this are similar to a VVTi
suharshan
Hi Gents, Bought a Primera P11 manual car few days back. This is a B/N GXE model with the SR20DE engine. The car runs OK at the moment but I'm planning to get the following things done. Full service including engine+gear oil change Engine tuneup A/C service Suspension check and replace shocks/bushings if needed Get all the belts replaced (this engine has a timing chain as per my knowledge) I'm thinking of either going to the agents or Pl*tin*m Auto Spa to get things done. Read some bad comments about the agents in the forum given by one of the senior members. Hence I'm thinking about other places/options. Does anyone has experience with PAS? Or any other Nissan specialist around Nugegoda area? If there are any current/previous P11 owners in the forum can you enlighten me on any other specific things I need to get checked? Thanks in advance.

suharshan
Thank you gents. @Davy no it's GA-17XX. BTW went to A*W today for the service. Wanted to get a full inspection done as well but their response was "Our scanner doesn't support this particular model". And this is a car imported B/N by themselves.
