  1. What a way to end the year! Looks great machan! Those Watanabes look great on the car and they're the perfect wheels for it. The stance is just amazing!!
  2. Wishing all AutoLankans a very happy new year 2020! Kudos to all the members who have been keeping the forum alive and kicking - sharing knowledge, blogging and providing support. Here's to another year of growing as a community of individuals sharing the same passion. Cheers!
  3. Yeah, that's just weird. As Crosswind said, maybe the papers are dodgy. Found this following a quick Google search. It has a 4B11T with an SST transmission. So it's an Evo X MR.
  4. That used to be Lasith Malinga's car if I'm not mistaken. And that's a legit Evo X. I'm not sure why the RMV information shows details of a CS1 though. I'm sure it has a 4B11T because I've seen pictures of the engine bay. Can see the air intake of the 4B engine even in the first photo.
  5. @Zinger please refrain from creating copies of the same thread in different sections of the forum. There threads merged and duplicate posts removed.
  6. Pretty sure the CVT still has the mesh filter at the bottom of the oil pan which is on the underside of the car and not vertical like the conventional auto.
  7. Hi @AdamHar1, You should rephrase your question because it's not clear what you mean. Also use a more meaningful topic title.
  8. That looks like a pinhole, is it not? Diameter or about 1mm? If I were you, I'd not bother with seat covers. If you can't live with it or think that it might get bigger, take it to an upholsterer and maybe they'll patch it up. There are also repair kits out there (try eBay) which you can buy and DIY. They're basically a glue and small specks of fabric (like a powder) which you cover the hole with.
  9. Any competent mechanic should be able to replace the crank position sensor. Shouldn't take more than half an hour. If you had error codes that resulted in a Check Engine light, you'll have to get the errors cleared as well.
  10. That's for two drains. Drain a total of 5.5L (2L + 3.5L). Then fill 5.5L. Do another drain of 3.5L and fill 3.5L. Also, although the capacity of the transmission is 7.7L, the required amount of oil for a manual drain and refill is less than that, because not all oil is drained from the transmission. Some of it is left inside. That's why the instructions in the workshop manual takes you through multiple drains and fills. The only transmission that has an external oil filter on the CY is probably the twin clutch SST that comes on the RalliArt and Evolution.

  13. Pretty sure 4th position A is for Sedan and W for Wagon. Second position S is replaced with T for Evolution models. (Example CT9A for Evo Sedan) The below info is based on what I remember from my CS3 (CS3ASNJER1UXXXXXX), and what I remember reading in a workshop manual. 10th position is the YOM. For example, 1 for 2001, 2 for 2002 and so on. I'm not sure if they changed it to a 0 for 2010 and started over since the model ran for more than a decade. I believe the 11th position is an alphabetic character. I had a "U" and from memory, it was to indicate the manufacturing plant.
  14. Helpful info gents. It's good that you got it fixed at its early stages. Although a minute leak, brake oil is highly corrosive and will rust up all those shiny return springs and the handbrake mechanism if the oil kept on leaking. You can see how much surface rust has developed on the brake cylinder from this tiny amount of oil.
  15. Yes, get it diagnosed. Address the problem displayed in the scanner. Take it to the agent as they'll be able to pinpoint the issue with their proprietary diagnostic tools.
  16. With the CH, you'd have to check if the timing belt was replaced on time. Most workshops here paste a sticker on the rocker cover with the date and mileage at which the replacement was done. Look for the sticker and log book entry. With the CJ, you don't have to worry about this as the 4A and 4B engines run a timing chain. The CG and CH (CS series in SL for anyone wondering) are pretty reliable. So is the CY in my experience. So just check the regular things and the service history, accident history (you can get a report from CarFacts) etc. If you can, get a VR-X which is the top of the range model. ? As for your question about the CX, that's the sportback (hatch) version.
  17. Threads merged. Thanks @kusumsiri.
  18. As I expected, you are trying to add a new LocalDB database file, but Visual Studio seems to be having trouble trying to connect to your MSSQLLocalDB. It sounds like it is an installation issue after all. Which Version of Visual Studio are you using? I know you said that you tried to repair the installation, but did you check if the "SQL Server Data Tools" option within the "Data Storage and processing" section of the installation options is checked? Screenshot below: Keep us posted on how it goes.
  19. Impressive work there @kusumsiri!
  20. It's a generic error message when something is wrong with the connection. I'm not saying that it's SQLite. It's SQL Server Express LocalDB which is a lightweight version of SQL Express shipped with Visual Studio. It doesn't have complex instances running all the time like a full SQL Server instance. Instead, it spins up a new instance by looking at the connection string which points to an MDF file. You don't use ODBC with LocalDB, you use SqlConnection within System.Data.SqlClient. Anyway, let's wait for @□AVANTE□ to confirm.
  21. It's a Local DB file by the looks. Not a server instance. So Visual Studio can be used as it has native support for Local Database files.
  22. That means your C# application is unable to reach the machine running SQL server. Looks like you're using a local database file. This is not an issue with your Visual Studio installation. Your client application basically fails to connect to SQL server. If it were a physical database server, this error means that there's a network issue between the machine executing the C#, and the database server. But because your database is local, it is either because: 1. Your connection string is wrong 2. You're trying to use a wrong system library to connect to the database. Happy to help if you can zip your code and share it on Google Drive or something. I'm sure it's a very easy fix.
  23. Is the idle RPM normal (i.e. around 700 - 800)? It could be a worn out engine mount as well, although I can't see how CarChecks would miss it.
  24. Looks clean! Congratulations! ?
