It looks like a resized Mazda 3 (which is quite the looker). But why does the 2 look like a friday evening wrap-up job by the designers.

4.5mil is permit price? and is this big as Axio?

New toyota land cruiser prado diesel from japan on the way. It is planned to release this year. It has 2.8l turbocharged engine (1GD-FTV)

Toyota stopped producing diesel Prado in Japan after KDJ120, the 150 series wasnt produced as diesel in Japan so I highly doubt they'll bring it back . The KDJ150 ones we got here were from UK and I think Toyota Lanka brings them down from Aussie cuz the one imported by TL says VX grade which is what is found in Aussie too.

I thought Prados were manufactured in Japan for all markets; with Russia and China getting plants just recently producing exclusively to those markets. I came across a Prado in Tanzania and it had Toyota Japan ID plates .Besides, aren't they phasing out production from AUS ?

And yes, Toyota (with a lot of other manufacturers) stopped making diesel passenger (private car) vehicles for the JDM after 2005 when stricter emissions standards came in to effect.

Also about this new model, I believe it is more or less 'tech updates' for both the Prado and LC200 and not entirely brand new models. Granted a LC200 replacement has been talked about for 2016/2017 for sometime. So this might be one of those phase over changes

The Prado could be a completely new one cuz Toyota usually replaces Prado in 7 years

Even with the 7 year cycle wouldnt that mean to be released in 2016 ?

Yep it'll be out next year for purchase but they'll probably preview it end of this year and 2.8L engine will be the one from Hilux

So as I guessed before there is no new LC Prado just yet ! Toyota announced some minor improvements for the Prado earlier today AND they reintroduced a clean diesel variant for the Japanese market which is a 2.8L turbo charged engine (1GD-FTV)

In the meantime, according to Toyota USA the new Prius is going to unveiled soon and is 'awesome'

So its a new color and new engine, Toyota introduced a new diesel engine to the KDJ120 as well halfway during its production years, from 1KZ to 1KD. I wonder why they are down sizing the engine from 3000cc to 2800cc, to reduce the weight maybe.

At least that is what the article sais, who knows, maybe they will sneak in some safety sense as well.

Weight is definetly a factor. Also witha smaller engine it would be easier to meeet strict eco standards for diesel non-commercial/business cars in Japan, read somewhere Toyota claiming the 1GD to be JDM spec adapted for export markets. By turbo charging it they still get the same or better power output (177hp for the 1GD vs 172?hp for the 1KD).

Yep i checked out that engine , they have inscreased the torque even though the engine was made smaller but wont pushing more power out of a smaller engine affect reliability?

Debateable. Europeans have done it for ages and some Japanese for sometime on select apps. They've all had hits and misses so I guess only time can tell.

The new Outlander went on sale in Japan today. Looks a bit better with less chrome on the front

Toyota isnt one of those companies who normally do that

Anyway the Outlander looks good( inculcating the front) in this red color

The quirky but loveable third-generation Suzuki Jimny has been given a new lease of life to keep it relevant despite being in the market for as long as 17 years now. Dubbed the Suzuki Jimny Street, the vibrant variant is limited to just 100 units and will be exclusively available for the Italian market.
