I have seen cruise control on many export models but not much on JDM models...not sure why

I am presuming you are talking about Japanese cars in general as the Premio/Allion were for Japan only models :D.

Has Toyota introduced a new CVT for the 2016 Premio/Allion?

Super CVT-i has been around for awhile....not sure if it is new to the Allion/Premio....

So..the facelift Corolla is finally shown to the world...I actually like the current Corolla's looks..much better than the Axio...just don't like it at the price TL is asking :D The facelift/update is also apparently in line with the Corolla's 50th Anniversary.

Are you sure this is the facelift? These are already in SL. I've seen a few white ones with the LED rear cluster of the car in grey.

This is the facelift Corolla. The rear of the facelift and pre facelift models are almost the same. Did you check the front as well. Your confusion is quite understandable. There are a few pre facelift Corollas in the country already but I don't think there are any facelift ones.

That is strange....what happened to the C-HR interior pics and the comments/discussion about it (posted around Thursday ?). Did something happen and posts get deleted ?

MADZ told they had to revert back from an old back up. So posts during that time were deleted.

When a Mazda is not a Mazda (or a Ford...)...but still a Mazda

Fiat/Abarth (okay its not Japanese but bare with me...) unveiled the Abarth 124 roadster which is to supposed to go on sale in Japan in August. We finally get to see what Mazda's design partners of the MX-5 have done with their take on the MX-5 platform. Hints at Mazda producing the car (124) seem to have been made....

Happy 50th Birthday to our dearest Corolla (badge at least).

After months of teasers Toyota has officially launched the 50th Anniversary edition of the Axio called the +Red.

Well...it is not much...just has a few special garnishes and accessories and a red interior that is reminiscent of the K10 series Corolla.

Looks like they have also introduced the WxB grade to the facelift, and this time it's available on sedan as well, not just the fielder as was the case with the pre facelift.

Nissan launched the next gen Serena earlier today. Engine wise the vehicle remains the same apart for a few tweaks to the hybrid system. However, the body has had some changes. The biggest news is apart from the usual lane departure warning, auto braking, etc..is Nissan's minor self/auto driving system which is an auto steering assist system (no idea to what extent is actually auto steers),

Looks more like a facelift with a funny looking steering :D

anyway few other stuff I came across about it:

  • According to Nissan, the new Serena “possesses the widest interior in its class,” and the majority of that space is found in the rear of the seven-seater MPV.
  • Other interior highlights include the “zero gravity” seats from the Teana sedan, which makes its way into the first and second row of the Serena. The third row seats are also claimed to be designed for maximised comfort like the front seats to help reduce fatigue during long drives.
  • Powered rear doors is now a hands-free affair on the Highway Star variant, as you can now open the doors by simply sliding your foot under them with the Intelligent Key in your pocket.

"Zero gravity seats"? What does that mean?  Like you start floating if you don't wear the seat belts? :D

Mazda updated its Axela line-up..yesterday ?

In addition to the 2.2L SkyActiv-D(iesel) they've introduced a 1.5L SkyActiv-D(iesel) engine in to the lineup. Apart from that the body has some minor tweaks.GVC (G-Vector Control) in the Axela.

Here is what GVC does and is: http://blog.caranddriver.com/mazdas-g-vectoring-control-effective-but-not-what-its-name-suggests/

RUMOR: One magazine stated that the 2.0L SkyActiv engine (non-hybrid) variant, available only in the Sport/Liftback body shape was being scratched off. Anyway,I hope this is just a rumor because that with the 6M/T was kind of like the fun-to-drive variant.

NOTE: SkyActiv-D is SkyActiv-Diesel

so with the 1.5 engine axela tax here will also go down

Say what ? the 1.5L engine is a pure diesel engine. Not a Hybrid. Since 99.9% of the Axelas brought down are Hybrids. Seriously dout anyone has even brought down a 1.5L or 2.0L petrol and certainly no one will bring down a 1.5L or 2.2L diesel.

So no...

True. There are no ICE 1.5L or 2.0L Axelas brought down by importers, all are 2.0L hybrids.  And no one is willing to bring down them either saying that the tax is too much. Even the agents don't bring down Mazda 3 with 1.5L or 2.0L ICE with Skyactiv engine. All we get is 1.6L Non Skyactiv engine. So I hardly think  either the importers or the agents would bring down the diesel variants.

Could this be the next March ?

Last week Nissan announced that it would start production/launch the next gen March. A few days a later a few renderings seem to have popped out which could be the next gen March. It is based on the Nissan Sway concept that was showcased at the Tokyo Motorshow last year.
